Your choice
Analytics is off until you choose Accept analytics. Choosing Reject analytics, or making no choice, does not load this Google Analytics integration or set its analytics cookies. Both choices let you use the site. You can use Change analytics choice below to withdraw or change your choice at any time. Withdrawal stops this integration’s further measurement and removes its analytics cookies; it cannot recall requests already sent or erase data Google previously received.
What is measured if you accept
Google receives public page addresses and titles, page-view and basic session information, the referring website’s origin, browser and language information, and network information needed to receive requests, including your IP address during transmission. Approximate geographic information may be derived according to the Analytics settings. We remove page query strings and fragments, and send only the referring website’s origin, not its page path or query. We do not configure collection of site search terms, form entries, account IDs or User-ID. Enhanced measurement, Google Signals, detailed location/device collection and advertising personalization are disabled. We use the information to understand readership and improve the guide, not for advertising.
Three optional interaction counts
If you accept analytics, we also count clicks on identified ticket links, use of the site’s Show on map buttons, and clicks on email links. The events are called ticket_click, show_on_map and email_click. Ordinary official-information links and external Google Maps links are not counted as ticket or Show on map actions. These counts measure clicks, not unique people, ticket purchases, delivered emails or completed visits.
For these events we send only the fixed event name, a public content type and, when available, a public content ID and clean page path. We do not send the email address, clicked destination URL, URL query strings, search terms or form contents. These events share the same consent, cookie and retention controls described above. A previous rejection remains a rejection; a previous acceptance for the older page-view-only scope requires a new affirmative choice before this expanded measurement starts.
Cookies and retention
Your yes/no choice is stored in this browser’s local storage for 90 days under ic_analytics_choice_v1; it contains an expiry date and no unique identifier. If you accept, Google Analytics may use _ga and _ga_BJY56Q8PWE first-party cookies to distinguish visits. We configure a 30-day cookie expiry without automatic renewal. Clearing browser storage resets your choice. Detailed event and user data retention is set to 2 months, with renewal on new activity off. Aggregated standard reports may remain available longer; this setting does not make all reporting data expire after 2 months.
Google and your requests
Google processes Analytics data on its infrastructure, which may involve processing outside your country. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can also use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. For questions or requests concerning data and applicable rights, email info@istanbulcurrent.com. We do not ask you to send sensitive information by email.
Other site services
The hosting provider processes requests to deliver and secure this website. The Places map loads map resources when used; external map and other links take you to their providers. The optional Analytics choice described here controls this Google Analytics integration. It does not control third-party sites you choose to visit.
